Dynes Expands Heavy Recovery Fleet with Mercedes-Benz Actros L Procabin

Over the past 25 years, Dynes Motor Group has grown from a small fleet of recovery and service vans to a team of 150 people that collectively rescued more than 85,000 vehicles across the country in 2025. As well as small and heavy recovery, Dynes also specialises in maintenance for both retail and commercial customers, alongside vehicle rental and sales.

A key component in that expansion has been a significant investment in their fleet, including a multi-decade partnership with Mercedes-Benz Trucks Dealer SAGA Truck & Van, while maintaining the values that built the business - doing the job properly and treating customers fairly.

Andy Nock, Managing Director of Dynes Motor Group, began his working life as an apprentice engineer, and bought the business in 2000 from the Dynes family, who had owned it since 1947.

Speaking from the passenger seat of one of his recovery vehicles, he said: “The truck we’re in today is a Mercedes-Benz Actros ProCabin with the Boniface Interstator equipment. We use a stainless steel body that has every extra you can add to it. I do that to make sure the driver has everything they need at all times.

"Over the years, the roads have become very busy, especially in London, where there are more vehicles around, including trucks and buses. The Mercedes-Benz Actros, with its advanced technology and radars, keeps the public safe and our drivers safe.”

Nowhere is that advanced safety technology more called upon than in the capital’s congested roads and streets, where Dynes Recovery is responsible for keeping public transport moving, utilising its round-the-clock control room and fleet of specialist equipment to recover and repair London’s buses.

Dynes has a long-standing partnership with SAGA Truck & Van, a Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle specialist supplying businesses across Hertfordshire, Kent, Essex, and East Anglia.

Martin Kemsley, SAGA UK Truck Sales Director, said: “Working alongside a business with such a storied history and reputation for delivering impeccable customer service is a real source of pride for our team. It also drives us to continually grow in what we can offer, both in product and after-sales support, to ensure Dynes has everything it needs to maintain its high standards.”

Andy Nock added: “Over the years we've grown as a customer and a supplier to SAGA Truck & Van, which is quite unique. They make the process of ordering the chassis really simple, and working alongside Boniface, our equipment supplier, makes the process seamless.

“We’ve grown to five companies with over 150 employees, and our focus has always been on customer service. The better you can do, and the more the customer can get great value for money and great service, the more they'll keep coming back. Dynes has grown from strength to strength. And having partnerships and collaborations with Mercedes, which is supporting us to grow and deliver excellent customer service, is all part of our future.”

Stuart Jeggo, Sales & Marketing Director, Daimler Truck UK, said: “Our trucks and aftersales support are key to keeping the wheels turning at Dynes, which in turn enables Andy and his team to assist thousands of drivers a year. With both of our companies sharing the same values of doing the job properly and delivering great customer service, it’s no surprise that Mercedes-Benz Trucks, SAGA Truck & Van, and Dynes have developed such a successful partnership, which will only grow stronger in the future.”
