The Mercedes-Benz Actros L ProCabin has been awarded Fleet Truck of the Year 2026 at the Motor Transport Awards - a ceremony celebrating the best of the best in the haulage world.

In particular, jurors praised the Actros for its better-than-claimed fuel economy, comfort-focussed cabin, and raft of advanced safety features protecting both drivers and road users.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks has also made significant steps in identifying areas outside the cabin that needed upgrading, and actioning them. Aftersales support has been significantly strengthened, with an improved network, more locations, and better parts supply to ensure fleet operators feel as supported as the ProCabin’s drivers.

Now celebrating its 40th year, the Motor Transport Awards highlights excellence among fleet operators, truck manufacturers and other providers with coveted trophies given out at a ceremony in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

The Fleet Truck of the Year award is given to the tractor unit that jurors believe offers the best overall package.

Based on a 4x2 or 6x2 platform and producing no more than 500hp, entrants are judged on criteria including fuel economy and driver satisfaction, as well as wider business support such as breakdown response, lead times, and finance options.

Fleets already taking advantage of the Actros’s advanced offering include Maritime Transport, Wrings Transport, and Knowles Logistics.
